Job Summary

Reporting to the Marketing Director, and for a specific segment and customer portfolio, the Marketing Manager ensures the marketing activities for products and services under his/her responsibility, namely by analyzing customer needs, identifying and exploring opportunities, coordinating new products launch and global business goal is to contribute to product development and market growth. 

The Marketing Manager is comfortable with day-to-day marketing activities, as well as short-term to mid-term strategy, thriving with tight deadlines and changing needs.

Job scope :

    New products & Product Offering

  • In charge of analyzing marketing intelligence (market, customer, competition, technology) and Imerys product performance to define product offering, value proposition and pricing

  • Developing a strategy for the market and the follow-up of its implementation

  • Contributing to strategic initiatives & projects

  • in collaboration with the innovation teams and the commercial teams for Adhesives, Sealants, Plastisols & Rubber in EMEA. 

    Key responsibilities :

    Market and segment: Responsible for the strategy for each sub segment and product portfolio (incl. new product development) 

  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative information from Imerys and 3rd party sources to understand demand trends, production, capacity and trade flows situation as well as mineral usage mapping, competitive environment and market shares. Develop and structure market and competition intelligence liaising with sales, tech support and marketing 

  • Define competitive behavior, strengths and weaknesses and integrate this into the business strategy and tactics to develop a sustainable competitive advantage in collaboration with the segment Sales Director 

  • Build a comprehensive strategy for the market (commercial, innovation, product portfolio, communication) in collaboration with sales managers, Science & technology team, and other stakeholders 

  • Structure a multi-mineral product / solution offering with a clear and quantified value proposition for each of our products offered to the market as well as establish and justify a recommended price range based on: value-added, competitive dynamics, market strategy and profitability. Prepare fact-based selling materials for the sales force 

  • Define and Challenge route to market, distribution channels direct vs. generalist distribution vs. specialist distribution, e-commerce route

  • New ideas, opportunities

  • Generate, identify and analyze new ideas / opportunities that could beneficiate the business

  • Maintain a dynamic product portfolio

  • Lead new product development projects, prepare documentation, set price level and actively support technical and sales teams until full commercial launch

  • Define the product mix (product, price, package, positioning, promotion), ensuring a common understanding of all relevant information to guide the market introduction, sales development, and share it within the organization.

  • Cross functional support

  • Propose sales enablers tools; ensure continuous training of sales team; provide training and assist distributors / agents and account managers in understanding the product range and customer’s key performance requirements 

  • Animate market on CRM; comment visit report, fill capacity equipment, competitor consumption, news & posts on market, communicate on trends; Manage content and updates for customer and external touch points, participating in events, documenting business processes, and providing additional sales support

  • Support sales team with budgeting work, opportunity assessment, commercial approach

  • Establish and sustain contacts with key value chain stakeholders: other raw material producers, associations, equipment manufacturers, end-customers to promote Imerys interests and develop promoters / prescriptors

  • Responsible for driving communication effort : Define Imerys communication directions and high-level content for website, brochures and social media; Define promotion and communication needs in terms of brochures, trade shows participations and preferred format, advertising that impact positively the customer and markets

  • Job specifications :

  • Strong business sense and ability to interact effectively with people from all backgrounds and levels, and to positively influence others w/o direct reporting lines, especially Sales and Technical teams
