For our Advanced Research and Development Department, we are actively seeking a Communication Design Engineer.
Key responsibilities
Develop, model, and analyze communication systems
Implement, document, and maintain software for system-level modelling using tools such as MATLAB, Python, and/or C++
Collaborate with system architects to develop and define block-level and system-level specifications
Collaborate with other engineering teams (analog, digital, and verification) in order to support the process of design, modeling, and verification
Support for post-silicon lab bring-up, debug, characterization and productization.
Produce reports (progress report, analysis, design, modeling, and verification reports)
Skills
Excellent knowledge on: communications, signal processing, algorithms, and modeling techniques
Good knowledge on: control theory and optimization
Demonstrated skills in implementing signal-processing (DSP) algorithms
Understanding of the building blocks of a digital communication link and factors impacting the link performance (signaling and modulation schemes, link quality assessment, signal to noise ratio, linearity, bandwidth, etc)
Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages C++, MALTAB, or Python/NumPy.
Familiar with git version-control system and fundamentals of software engineering (unit-testing, profiling, …)
Familiar with analog circuit simulators (SPICE/SPECTRE) and signal integrity
Strong communication and presentation skills
Experience
5+ years of experience in development and modelling of communication, electronic, or computational systems
MSc or PhD in Electrical and/or Communications, Computer Engineering, Computer Sciences (equivalent or higher) with strong background in Signal Processing and good understanding of Circuits Theory
Experienced with system-level modelling and simulation of digital communication systems, such as wireless and wireline links
Expert-level knowledge and practical background with common modeling and simulation tools such as Matlab, Python, and C++
